In class we learned about Binary Numbers and Base Systems. A binary number is a number that is expressed in the base-2 numeral system, which uses only two symbols: 0 (zero) and 1 (one). We also learned in class that base-2 numeral system is a positional notation and that each digit is referred to as a bit. In class we were given three shapes: a triangle, square, and circle. From there we had to come up with as many combinations that could be created using these three shapes and without two of the shapes being repeated. Our group had concluded that there were six combinations that could be created. Then we were told that to do the same thing but we were now allowed to have two of the same shapes in each row. When my group was figuring out how many combinations there were, we had done some trial and error as well as some math. We finally concluded that there were twenty-seven combinations in total.
