Privacy Policy

Writer: cfequierecfequiere

The five websites/apps that I use are Spotify, ITunes, Instagram, Desmos, and Fashion Nova. I use Spotify and ITunes to listen and stream music as well as to create playlists that other people can follow. I use Instagram as social networking app to share any photos and videos from events that I have gone to and to basically show what I do with my free time and what I'm interested in. I use Desmos because it is a free graphing and teaching tool for math especially for Calculus. It helps me visualize what I am learning as well as a variety of math concepts to help me in the classroom. I use Fashion Nova because I like to shop for clothes and they sell clothes for my age group and older and I am also able to find sales online as well as in the store too! I do have an account for all of these websites/apps and I have to login each time I use one of the websites/apps. I think this most of these websites are able to collect the basic information about me such as my first and last name as well as my email address and for shipping purposes my home address as well as. I know that the data from Spotify and ITunes are shared with others because they are able to view playlists that I have created and that are public as well. The app's Privacy Policy that I choose to analyze was Spotify's Privacy Policy. The main data that they collect is the user's personal data such as email address, birth date, postal code, gender, and country. They also collect the user's use of the Spotify Service such as what songs the user has played and what playlists they have created. They also collect information from third parties such as advertisers and partners that they work with to collect any personal data on the songs that you like or that you listen to the most. They also collect data about the user's type of Spotify Service plan as well as the interactions that the user has with Spotify's Service such as data and time a certain song was played and how many times that song or songs are listened to and viewed. The user is able to access their account and change some of the data such as birth date and email ; however, everything else is unable to be changed. I would say that I am somewhat comfortable with this companies privacy policy but I am still skeptical of where some of my personal information is going to.
